In the last couple of years, many brands have begun to extend their sizes. I’ve talked about this before with American Eagle; you can read my thoughts here. Another brand that has extended their sizes is LOFT.

I have a couple of LOFT pieces that I have picked up secondhand. I have enjoyed the pieces and have seen plus size influencers that I follow try on and recommend the brand, so I thought I would give it a shot. (Pictured below are the two LOFT pieces that I own and love.)

LOFT goes from a size XXS to a XXL in their straight size section and from a 14 to a 26 in plus. They also carry petite, tall and maternity items. I visited the LOFT location in Creekside Station in Winchester, VA and although the staff was really kind and the store was lovely, the biggest size I saw in the store was a 16 in jeans and an XL in tops. They had an extensive clearance section and a lot of great accessories available.

Their dressing rooms were open, so I decided to try on a couple of pieces that I thought might fit me. I can usually fit into a stretchy or oversized XL.

Item #1: Stitched Dolman Sweater in Whisper White – $59.50, Size XL

I am looking for a white crewneck or scoop neck sweater, so I grabbed this sweater to try on.

The fabric was really soft, not itchy at all. The neckline was exactly what I was looking for and I liked the length. The only thing that I didn’t like was the length of the sleeves. The sleeves were supposed to be a dolman sleeve, which is usually oversized and batwing-like, but since this was not my size, the sleeve length got all messed up on me.

That’s not to say that I didn’t like the sleeve length on me, it was just not what I was looking for, especially because of the price point.

Item #2: Smocked Sleeve Top in Whisper White – $24.99, Size XL

This top was on the clearance rack at the location that I was at and it was super duper soft, so I wanted to try it on. Like I needed another white top though.

There was slight ruching on the sleeve, but not so much that it bothered me or that I didn’t like the style. The rest of the top was shaped like a crewneck sweatshirt, but in a thinner fabric.

I liked it so much that I bought it! I’ll be wearing this on it’s own with a tank layered underneath because it is see-through or under sweaters for an extra layer of warmth. You may even find me lounging around the house in this piece because it’s so darn soft.

Item #3: Lou & Grey Signature Softblend Sweatpants in Sleek Grey Heather – $69.50, Size XL

I grabbed these sweatpants to try on and the next item, a matching sweatshirt, because I am being heavily influenced by the ladies I follow on Instagram who are wearing matching lounge sets.

These sweatpants were really soft and stretchy, so they fit me decently. If there would have been more sizes available, I would have sized up to an XXL just for even more comfort.

As you can see, they are see-through, so I searched the rack for another color in my size, but had no such luck. I would have bought these if they weren’t so transparent.

Item #4: Lou & Grey Signature Softblend Sweatshirt in Sleek Grey Heather – $69.50, Size XL

This sweatshirt was just as luxorious feeling as the sweats. It fit me nicely and would have been fantastic to lounge around in.

I didn’t find this top to be as transparent as it’s matching pants, so that was a positive. I just could not justify buying another grey sweatshirt or sweater for myself, but as a set or as a gift, it is a winner. (My logic is whack because I bought myself another white top on this exact trip as you saw above.)

I did purchase a pack of three masks that had cute designs on them and a pair of sunglasses. Their accessories were great and I am very pleased with the quality of the masks.

I know this was a short try-on, but I hope you enjoyed coming along on this little adventure with me. I would have tried on more items in the store, but items were either not available in the largest size they carried in-store, an XL, or in any size remotely close to mine. There were more XLs in the store that I did not try on, so if you are true size XL, you may want to check the Creekside location out. Many of the XL items had no stretch and would probably not have worked for me.

I would be more than happy to order items off their website if you are interested in seeing me try on my actual size in LOFT, so let me know if that is something you would like to see.

LOFT clothing seems to be of decent quality and price, but, as per usual with straight size stores that have extended their sizing, I wish that they would carry more sizes in-store.
